Date: 2021-01-29 10:09 pm (UTC)Yeah, I think you're right that vids don't get remixed much. Probably because they're scenes from canon set to music, so it's not immediately clear that you're referencing a vid and not just the show itself?
I'm really glad you liked the subway tunnel image because that was the one I had the hardest time with. To begin with, I had a cropped photo of the interior of a NYC subway from the 70s. It was cool but it wasn't under creative commons, so I realized I should probably find something else. I had a hell of a time finding something that worked that was free to use, but the search was worth it in the end. :)

Fair point! It's also that I just don't see a lot of recursive fanworks/remixes that are not either fic or based on fic. But I now remember I've seen a couple of people write meta or long-form reviews about vids, so that's a thing sometimes. There was that one Good Omens vid in particular which was based on meta and then inspired more meta and also inspired at least two stories.
